30.12.2018 Spotlight Microbiology meeting 2018
Our joint Spotlight Microbiology Meeting on the 19th and 20th November 2018 shed light on the research projects from the young microbiology PhD students from the Collaborative Research Centers from Tübingen and Marburg.
The historical “Alte Aula” (old Auditorium) of the University of Tübingen, was an inspirational place to allow a close interaction between international microbiology experts and with many PhD students to discuss their projects.
We had 30 posters and 14 invited speakers who stimulated intense discussions on state of the art techniques, signaling pathways, bacterial networks and new specialized mechanisms of bacterial survival. An industry session with two Alumni from the University of Tübingen focused on their careers as microbiologists in industry, giving perspectives for the application of microbiology outside research.
“The Bacterial Cell Envelope: Structure, Function, and Infection Interface, SFB766 Tübingen“ and “Microbial Diversity in Environmental Signal Response, SFB987 Marburg” believe that shared knowledge is the key to the advance and progress of our research.
We thank all the 100 participants for contributing with fruitful discussions and for the exceptional, friendly environment!
