The minor subject will provide you with the opportunity to attain a high level of language skills and cultural knowledge in the French-speaking world and to develop (an) expertise in the discussion of socially relevant topics in cultural and artistic media. In this way, you will enhance your studies with valuable language skills and cultural knowledge.
You will acquire language skills or improve your existing language skills and learn to move around the francophone (French-speaking) world with linguistic confidence, even if you start out without prior knowledge of the language. You will become a specialist in the area of cultural transfer and translation. In this way, you will develop a critical understanding of intercultural action and will become sensitive to your own and the foreign language.
Prospects
In the context of your academic and practical linguistic education, the minor subject is aligned to the professional fields of cultural, textual and public relations work with regard to the French-speaking world.
A minor subject will help you to extend your professional qualifications profile, which is decisively shaped by the choice of your major subject. In conjunction with your major subject, your relevant work experience (e.g. internships, part-time jobs, voluntary work) and your personal skills, it will enable you to refine your profile and carve out your own individual array of career options.
