The focus of this minor (in English) is on the interaction of language use and power structures. You can choose from a wide range of elective courses: from courses on empirical methods or intercultural communication, to analysing language in the media. Towards the end of your degree programme, you will focus in depth on researching the core topic.
An integral part of the combined Bachelor's degree is the MarSkills programme, in which you will acquire valuable, future-oriented skills.
Prospects
The primary fields of work include public relations, communications consultancy and related consulting work, as well as the areas of university, human resources, publishing, media and media production, tourism and documentation and library services, science management, project management, content marketing and language teaching in business and industry, advertising, politics, trade and transport.
A minor subject will help you to extend your professional qualifications profile, which is decisively shaped by the choice of your major subject. In conjunction with your major subject, your relevant work experience (e.g. internships, part-time jobs, voluntary work) and your personal skills, it will enable you to refine your profile and carve out your own individual array of career options.
