The minor subject “Protestant Theology” will provide you with the opportunity to acquire a basis for a scientifically substantiated study of the contents and objects of Protestant Theology. As well as discovering core areas of Protestant Theology, a major objective is to learn the scientific approach and how to implement it in practice. The minor subject taps into the historical and religious foundations of Western culture on a wide scale and teaches key competencies such as language skills and historical and systematic thinking and knowledge.
After completing the course, you will be able to identify the links within the theological disciplines and link theological contents to topic areas from other academic fields. You will also be able to interpret theological contents in the context of contemporary social problems and discuss solutions. Therefore, you will be able to talk theologically.
Prospects
The minor subject “Protestant Theology” will open up various professional fields in cultural studies and humanities, in journalism, politics or human resources. Graduates will find job opportunities in the media and cultural sector, at (church) educational institutions and at institutions where the examination of the history and the present of Christianity is relevant.
A minor subject will help you to extend your professional qualifications profile, which is decisively shaped by the choice of your major subject.
