The Kunst, Musik und Medien: Organisation und Vermittlung / Visual Arts, Music and Modern Media: Organization and Presentation bachelor's program is offered together and in equal parts by the departments of Art History, Media Studies and Music Studies. The objective is to impart basic historical and theoretical knowledge and analytical methods of the subjects involved and to impart knowledge of transfer processes and forms of presentation of the arts in medial interconnection. For the first time in Germany, the program combines the three disciplines of Art History, Music Studies and Media Studies into one program. Its profile is interdisciplinary and the involved subjects are interconnected with respect to content.
The scientific and practical professional alignment of the program corresponds with the specific requirements profile of those positions in the cultural sector that are substantially oriented toward the presentation of art and music or the mediation of events in which art, music and/or media participate.
Major topics
The program interconnects art, music and media studies portions, as well as practical, profession-oriented portions.
In the 1st and 2nd semester, three developmental modules impart fundamental knowledge of the work methods, subject matter and methods of the subjects involved in the program, Art History, Music Studies and Media Studies. From the 2nd to 5th semesters, the program focuses on interdisciplinary, application-oriented transfer of knowledge. Beginning in the 2nd, but primarily in the 5th and 6th semesters, discipline-specific knowledge is expanded in the subjects of Art History, Music Studies and Media Studies.
