The "Education, Training and Lifelong Learning" minor combines a broad fundamental overview and distinguishing optional courses. You can deepen your knowledge in the main areas of application of social pedagogy, rehabilitation pedagogy, adult education and extracurricular youth education. The Marburg degree programme and programme profile continues to provide optional courses in subjects such as inclusion, counselling or media.
An integral part of the combined Bachelor's degree is the MarSkills programme, in which you will acquire valuable, future-oriented skills.
Prospects
The minor subject will support you in the academic pursuit of a career based on education, training and social work (e.g. working in socio-educational institutions, child and youth welfare institutions or primary, further and continuing education) and, under certain conditions, will enable you to take up a Master's degree in educational science, in which you can acquire more advanced content and qualify for management positions in academic occupations. You will be trained in critical problem analysis from an educational science perspective. You will be qualified to reflect on the institutional, political and social framework of educational practice and to make informed critical judgements.
A minor subject will help you to extend your professional qualifications profile, which is decisively shaped by the choice of your major subject. In conjunction with your major subject, your relevant work experience (e.g. internships, part-time jobs, voluntary work) and your personal skills, it will enable you to refine your profile and carve out your own individual array of career options.
