Program: Volkswirtschaftslehre / Economics
Degree: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)
Program length: 6 semesters / 3 years (180 ECTS points)

The Volkswirtschaftslehre / Economics bachelor's program, with the degree of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), is directed to students who want to gain insight into the important aspects of economic theory and policy. The explicit consideration of the importance of institutions for the economy, characteristic for Marburg, already provides students in the bachelor's program with an overview of the structures upon which the decisions of individual decision-makers (companies or public institutions) are based. Strong dovetailing with Business Administration instruction allows for the direct application of institutional economic concepts. The education is therefore very practically oriented, but places high priority on learning thought structures and the pure acquisition of factual knowledge, thereby providing students with a solid basis for lifelong learning with which they can compete in a dynamic corporate environment into the future.
