A04 - Brain network characterization of symptom changes using intense sampling

Markus Junghöfer, Susanne Meinert, Igor Nenadić

Identifying symptom changes indicative of incipient depressive episodes is key to prediction models for short-term outcomes. A04 characterises depressive symptoms using lab-based as well as home-based mobile phone data of behavioural, peripheral and brain parameters of the four main cognitive-emotional mechanisms targeted in this SFB/TRR 393 over the course of eight weeks following symptom changes. Our findings contribute to linking short-term symptom changes and clinical signs of upcoming depressive episodes with changes in neural networks. This enables a mechanism-based prediction of short-term outcome for individual patients.
