B07 - Linking cognitive-behavioural rhythms to brain oscillations, cognition, and disease trajectories in affective disorders

Ida Wessing, Joachim Gross, Philipp Ritter

Cognitive-behavioural rhythms such as sleep are substantially disturbed in patients with affective disorders. Project B07 investigates the related mechanisms underlying symptom changes during the recurrence of affective episodes. To this end, we (i) relate longitudinal data from smartphone-based sleep-activity profiles, recordings of brain activity, and mood in the SFB/TRR 393 cohort (n=1,500) over two years; and (ii) monitor a subgroup of 200 participants more closely before and after symptom changes using wearable sensors (actimetry) and intermittent recordings of brain activity during sleep and awake state.
