A10 - Thorsten Stiewe:
Role of p73-directed chromatin alterations for neuroendocrine differentiation in small cell lung cancer
The p53 family gene TP73 encodes the transactivating, tumor suppressive transcription factor TAp73 and the transrepressing, oncogenic isoform DNp73. Because of genetic and epigenetic TP73 alterations, TAp73 and DNp73 expression are frequently upregulated in neuroendocrine small cell lung cancer (SCLC). The project investigates the role of p73-directed chromatin changes for neuroendocrine differentiation, SCLC pathogenesis and therapy.
