How to Publish Scientific and Academic Work
Marburg University Library uploads files long-term on its publication server, makes them available to the general public and registers their publication in its catalogues.
§6 of the rules for users of the publication server states that members of Philipps-University are permitted to publish scientific and academic documents on it, e.g.:
- Public lectures
- Conference proceedings
- Research reports
- Previously published monographs and articles if the original publishers have given permission for republication on institutional repositories.
What Requirements Must the Fulfilled by the Author?
- Follow the instructions on the checklist!
- If your work has previously appeared with a publisher, you must clarify in advance if you have permission to republish it on the server, and if so, in what form (either in the original manuscript form or in the publisher’s layout).
- Upload your document onto the publication server and attach the relevant document properties. (This ensures that the documents can also be located by meta search engines of digital full-text archives and by general search engines such as Google):
- Author’s name
- Name of primary reviewer
- Title of the work in German and English
- Keywords in German and English
- Short abstracts (ca. 5,000 characters) in German and English
- Also bibliographical details of the first publication
- Fill out the Declaration on the publication of electronic documents.
- Send the completed form to the Dissertations- und Tauschstelle.
- If you have further questions, please consult the FAQs.
- If you don’t find the relevant answers there, we will be happy to help you.
