Projects

The University Library was and still is involved in several projects concerned with the management of research data:

Hessian Research Data Infrastructures (HeFDI) (since 2016)

The University Library is a participant in an overall project to develop research data infrastructures throughout Hesse. As well as Philipps-University Marburg which manages and coordinates the project, ten other Hessian universities also participate in this project which is funded by the Hessian Ministry for Science and Art since 2016.

Research Data Courses for Students and Graduates (FOKUS) (2017 - 2019)

Together with pilot faculties the University Library develops subject-related training sessions on  research data management. This is a joint project throughout Hesse with Goethe University Frankfurt, Fulda University, Justus Liebig University Giessen, and Darmstadt Technical University which was funded by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research from 2017 to 2019. Marburg University Library is responsible for co-ordinating the overall project.

Center of Excellence for Research Data Management and Archiving (2014-2016)

The University Library, together with the University Computing Center, was in charge of the establishment of the "Center of Excellence for Research Data Management and Archiving". In close cooperation with other institutions and pilot projects at the science and research location Marburg comprehensive requirement analyses for research data management were carried out and prototype services were planned and developed. The project was funded from 2014 to 2016 by the Hessian Ministry for Science and Art. The work of the Center of Excellence is continued within the framework of the project Hessian Research Data Infrastructures (HeFDI) by the Department of Research Data Management as well as by the University Computer Center and the University Library.
