Bullying
Bullying in the workplace is not uncommon. Countermeasures should be taken early and assertively in all cases.
Bullying in the workplace is defined as systematic harassment, discrimination, insults or the exclusion of another person by superiors or colleagues alike. Bullying can be committed by a single person or by an entire group; bullying may target a victim’s work life, social life or both.
React as quickly as possible if you experience bullying. Bullying becomes harder to stop the longer it goes on. Contact colleagues or superiors you trust. Find support from the Staff Council (“Personalrat”) and/or the Representative for the Severely Disabled (“Schwerbehindertenvertretung”). Keep a diary where you record any instances of bullying you experience and the outcome.
