Sexual Harassment and Violence
Sexual harassment and violence are grave violations of a person’s personal rights and prohibited as part of the official discourse on and off campus.
Sexual harassment on campus and in the workplace occurs when a person is confronted with undesired sexually motivated behavior:
- sexually suggestive jokes,
- demeaning comments concerning a person, their body, their conduct or their sex life,
- obscene gestures and other non-verbal communication,
- verbal, pictorial or electronic presentations depicting pornographic or sexist content,
- copying, applying or using computer programs with sexist content,
- actions and invitations to perform sexual physical touching,
- criminally relevant conduct, such as stalking, sexual coercion, rape.
Contact the Consultative Council (“Vertrauensrat”) at the Philipps-Universität Marburg to file a complaint. All your information will be treated confidentially. Pertinent measures will not be implemented without your consent.
