Equipment and application scenarios

For all application scenarios, we will be happy to advise you on the best hardware and software solutions when planning courses, research projects, etc. and make these available to you.

  • Printing 3D objects

    Printing 3D objects in the XSpace Open Lab is relatively simple. You can use the existing 3D printers to print 3D objects with a maximum height of 605 mm. For example, models of molecules, models of historical/archaeological buildings or artistic objects can be printed. In the XSpace Open Lab you will also find all the tools you need to manually rework any imperfections.

    Equipment required: Prusa i3 MK3 3D printer, Raise3D Pro2 Plus, tools

  • Scan 3D objects

    If you want to scan objects for the purpose of research, teaching and study, the XSpace Open Lab offers you exactly this possibility. With our EinScan SE 3D scanner, you can scan objects with a maximum size of 700mm * 700mm * 700mm and process them as 3D objects on the PC using the appropriate software. We will be happy to advise you on the exact processing options.

  • Development of multi-touch applications

    You can either create small applications or presentations on the multi-touch table using the table's own software or you can programme a multi-touch application in HTML that can simply run in the browser. This allows you to create small mini-games, interactive presentations and visualisations and display them prominently if you borrow the table from us. If you are interested in such applications, you have come to the right place.

  • Group video conference with gesture control

    There is also a small table group and an Insta360 Link webcam in the XSpace Open Lab. You can use this via the PC on the interactive touch display with the video conferencing solution of your choice. The Insta360 Link delivers razor-sharp images, can track your position in the room and supports gesture control. It also has various modes, such as a DeskView or whiteboard mode, and allows you to communicate your materials better than ever before.
