Research

The main research topics focus on the field of growth (by metalorganic vapour phase epitaxy (MOVPE)) and quantitative structural analysis of novel hybrid materials and nanostructures as well as on the correlation of the transport and optical properties of semiconductor heterostructures with structural characteristics and the realization of novel (opto)electronic device structures. The interdisciplinary research approach is manifested by close collaborations with a variety of research groups in chemistry, structural analysis, surface physics, spectroscopy, solid state theory and device physics and device applications both at the Philipps-University (Marburg) and academic and institutional research partners worldwide.

These research efforts are financially supported by various research contracts by the German Research Foundation (DFG), by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and by the European Union as well as by direct collaborations with industry partners.
